Museum of the Moving Image is proud to partner with Rooftop Films and the New York Hall of Science to present the Queens Drive-In, beginning in August. Taking place on the grounds of the New York Hall of Science (NYSCI) in Flushing Meadows Corona Park, this joint partnership among long-running New York nonprofit institutions is the first drive-in film festival presented in New York. Part of a city-wide film festival that will present films in Queens and Brooklyn throughout the summer and fall of 2020, the Drive-In festival will bring safe, communal moviegoing back to the City for the first time following the COVID-19 pandemic, serve to sustain jobs, and support New York and the larger filmmaking community.

Die härteste Einschränkung zu Beginn der Pandemie war es die Familie und gute Freunde über Wochen nicht sehen zu können. Nachdem es zu Lockerungen diesbezüglich kam, fiel und fällt es schwer auf Kultur zu verzichten. Wie erhebend fühlte sich dann der erste Gang in die wiedereröffnete Stadtbibliothek an. Nun öffnen auch die Kinos wieder ihre Pforten! Hier ein Filmtipp, um dies gebührend zu feiern!
